ABILITY TO COMPLETE ALL OF THE STEPS IN THE
PROCEDURE; CONSULT A TRAINED TECHNICIAN. IMPROPER
INSTALLATION COULD RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR
DEATH.
Some of our high performance air cleaners extend beyond the
stock/OEM unit to achieve smoother air flow and better performance.
Riding position may be affected, so it is important to familiarize
yourself with the new riding position.
Proper tuning is important. We recommend fuel injected bikes should
be tuned with a TTS MasterTune tuning system (calibrations available
at www.kuryakyn.com), or by an experienced tuner, on a dyno, with
an exhaust gas analyzer. 2007 and later Harley Twin Cams run
especially lean combined with retarded ignition timing. Lean
conditions and/or retarded ignition timing will cause high exhaust
temperatures and discolor chrome exhaust.
STEP 2
Remove the stock air cleaner so that the air intake is completely exposed.
STEP 3
Locate the gasket with adhesive. Remove the adhesive backing and apply the
gasket to the flange of the throttle body, make sure you line up the holes of
the gasket with those on the air intake. PIC 1
STEP 4
As shown in PIC 3, thread 2 of the 90 degree hose fittings in to the threaded holes
on top of the aluminum adapter. The fittings should face the opposite direction of
each other.
STEP 5
Install the included O-ring to the backside of the aluminum adapter. There is a
channel cut where the O-ring will sit.
STEP 6
Mount the provided breather hoses to the hose fittings on the aluminum adapter,
see PIC 3. Test fit the complete assembly to the throttle body flange, connecting
the open ends of the hoses to the breather bolts installed in Step 3.
NOTE: It may be necessary to trim the hoses to length to get the best fit. Make
sure that the hoses are not pinched or kinked.
STEP 7
As shown in PIC 3, attach the aluminum adapter assembly to the throttle body flange using the
included 1/4”-20 x 7/8" Socket Head Cap Screws.
