STEP 2
Remove the mirrors from the hand controls as outlined in the service manual.
Ensure the area of installation is free of grease, oil, dirt or other
debris including wax/polish products and bugs to ensure proper
adhesion. Küryakyn WILL NOT issue a warranty on any parts lost due
to improper installation.
STEP 3 Thoroughly clean the front side (PIC 1) of both mirrors with soapy water and a
clean rag. Dry completely. Wipe the mirrors with one of the included alcohol pads
to remove any residue. Let dry completely.
STEP 4
Test fit one of the Spade Mirror Covers to the back of one of the mirrors by
inserting the mirror stem through the opening in the Spade Cover. PIC 2 Make any
reference marks with a non-permanent marker or masking tape. Remove the
Spade Cover.
The adhesive will not bond correctly if applied at temperatures less
than 50°F. Do not attempt this installation in temperatures less than
50°F.
STEP 5 Rub the adhesive backing with your fingernail to activate the adhesive. Remove
the backing, and using any reference marks made in Step 4, attach the Spade
Mirror Cover to the front of the mirror. PIC 3 Press in place for one minute. Full
bonding will occur in 24 hours.
NOTE: If the motorcycle is to be operated before the 24 hour cure time
has expired, use a good quality masking or painter’s tape over the
Accent to assist in holding the Accent in place until the cure time
is over.
STEP 6
Determine if you would like to use any or all of the Black Inserts for the Spade
Mirror Covers. (These are not attached so you have the ability to custom paint or
use any or all of the inserts to customize your mirror covers to suit your
motorcycle.) Once you have decided, test fit the insert(s) to the correct locations
shown in PIC 4 and PIC 5.
STEP 7 Wipe the insert location(s) with one of the included alcohol pads to remove any
residue. Let dry completely.
STEP 8 Rub the adhesive backing with your fingernail to activate the adhesive. Remove
the backing, and attach the insert to the chosen location on the Spade Mirror
Cover. PIC 5 Press in place for one minute. Full bonding will occur in 24 hours.
NOTE: If the motorcycle is to be operated before the 24 hour cure time
has expired, use a good quality masking or painter’s tape over the
Insert(s) to assist in holding the Insert(s) in place until the cure
time is over.
STEP 9
Repeat Steps 3-8 for the other mirror.
STEP 10 Install the mirrors back on the motorcycle as outlined in the service manual.
STEP 11 Adjust the mirrors for proper view before riding the motorcycle.
It is the installer’s responsibility to ensure that all of the fasteners
(including pre-assembled) are tightened before operation of the
motorcycle. Küryakyn will not provide warranty coverage on
products or components lost due to improper installation or lack of
maintenance. Periodic inspection and maintenance are required on
all fasteners.
