Flashing Installation Guide
General Information
Installation of GreenGuard
®
Flashing shall be in
accordance with applicable building codes and this
Installation Guide. The Installation Guide shall be
available at the jobsite during installation.
GreenGuard
®
Flashing is intended to provide protection
against air and moisture intrusion by sealing around
window/door openings, pipe penetrations, electrical
and mounting box penetrations, fastener/wall tie
penetrations. GreenGuard
®
Flashing can be used with
most common building materials to seal the interface
between the GreenGuard
®
Flashing and wall sheathing
(plywood, OSB, extruded polystyrene insulation board),
water-resistive barriers (building wraps/housewraps),
concrete, CMU, lumber, PVC (vinyl), fiberglass and metal.
Damaged substrates or materials shall be replaced
prior to installation of the GreenGuard
®
Flashing.
Safety Precautions
• Review this Installation Guide prior to
beginning installation. Refer to the Material
Safety Data Sheet for additional information.
Go to www.TrustGreenGuard.com for the most current
product information.
• CAUTION: Like most commercially available flashing
membranes, GreenGuard
®
Flashings are combustible
and may ignite if exposed to fire of sufficient heat
and intensity. Protect GreenGuard
®
Flashing from
exposure to open flame or other ignition sources (such
as sparks or welding) during shipping, storage and
installation.

• GreenGuard
®
Flashing is not compatible with coal tar,
polysulfide sealants or plasticized PVC membranes.
Preparation
• All surfaces to be bonded shall be dry, free from dust,
dirt, loose debris and obstructions.
• GreenGuard
®
Flashings are not intended to be
used in areas intended for permanent exposure
after construction is completed or on areas that will
experience exposure to temperatures in excess of
150°F.
• At the time of installation, the ambient air temperature
shall be above 25°F. For applications at temperatures
below 40°F, store GreenGuard
®
Flashing in heated
area until use over surfaces prepared with one of the
contact adhesives shown in the chart below. Contact
adhesives improve adhesion to porous substrates
such as CMU, exterior gypsum sheathing, and OSB at
lower temperatures.
• Apply contact adhesives in accordance with the
manufacturer’s instructions, using a continuous
coating with no puddles. Surfaces are typically ready
for bonding when tacky and adhesive does not
transfer when touched.
• Do not apply contact adhesives to surfaces that are
wet, damp, frosty, or contaminated.
• Apply contact adhesives to surfaces to be bonded
with GreenGuard® Flashing in the same day. If the
contact adhesive loses tack or becomes soiled, then
re-apply
