PARKING BRAKE CABLE REPLACEMENT / INSTALLATION

OUTSIDE BRAKE ARMS

1. The outside brake arms are to remain in the posi-

tion as received from the factory. (Horizontal and
rearward)

2. Install brake cables finger tight and position the

brake handle in the “vertical” position.

3. Open left and right relief valves on the pumps by

pulling the RH and LH levers to the rear and lock
out in the keyway slot to disengage for free-
wheeling. (See photo on page 14)

4. Install the brake cable spring onto the brake arm.

(Note: the spring should be positioned to the out-
side of the brake arm.)

INSIDE BRAKE ARMS

5. The inside brake arms are to be installed in the

vertical position.

6. Attach the return spring to the brake arm and to

the axle tension rod.

7. Tighten the nuts on the brake cable casing to

remove excess slack.

8. Install a wheel and tire on the transaxle hub.

9. Position the brake handle in the “off” position.

The tire and wheel should rotate freely without
dragging.
