Spray extraction, steam vacuuming, combined operating mode
ⅷ Sudden drop in suction power,
– Is the soiled-water tank full (float activated)? ➔ empty (see Section 5.2)
or appliance switches off
– Is the appliance inclined at an angle (float activated)? ➔ Restore appliance to flat position, switch
off entire appliance and then switch on again.
ⅷ Water is discharged from the – Is the float in the soiled-water container soiled and no longer able to move freely, i.e. it is
appliance's blow-out openings unable to respond when the tank is full? ➔ Clean float and hinge, dry appliance
– Has the soiled-water tank been installed with anti-sloshing insert, wet filter and motor protection
filter? ➔ Switch off appliance immediately and dry, install missing parts
ⅷ An unusual pool of water forms in the suction – Are seals and sealing surfaces heavily soiled?
compartment (a few drops are quite normal) ➔ clean
– Have you forgotten to fit the wet filter or the anti-sloshing insert? ➔ check
ⅷ Unusually strong foaming occurs – Have you used original THOMAS cleaning concentrate? ➔ replace
in the soiled-water tank

ⅷ No cleaning liquid is emitted, although the – Is there any cleaning liquid in the spray tank?
spraying function has been switched on ➔ replenish
– Is the spray nozzle blocked? ➔ Place the nozzle in lukewarm water, leave for a while and then blow
out under high pressure
– Has the system plug been connected correctly? ➔ check
– Is the tank supply opening blocked? ➔ Remove fresh water tank and clean the supply opening
(connection point between fresh water tank and housing) thoroughly with the joint nozzle, to remove
any dirt.
Steam vacuuming, conventional steaming mode
ⅷ Boiler heating time too long
– The boiler is furred ➔ Defur (see Section 6.5)
ⅷ No steam is emitted, although the button for – Is the steam regulator set to "Min"? ➔ check
steam mode has been switched on
– Is the boiler empty? - the 'Ready' indicator lamp for steam mode is off ➔ refill with water (see
Section 6.4)
– Has the system plug or steam connector been inserted correctly ➔ check
Ask your dealer for the address of the THOMAS customer service centre which
is responsible for your area.
Please also notify your dealer of the specifications stated on
the rating plate of your THOMAS SYNTHO AQUAFILTER.
In order to maintain the safety of your appliance, repairs,
especially to live parts, should be carried out by qualified elec-
tricians only.
In the event of a fault, you should therefore approach your
dealer or the THOMAS Customer Service centre directly.
