General Maintenance
The batteries in this vehicle are a maintenance free battery and shipped in the
vehicle filled with electrolyte and charged. A warning indicator light will illuminate on
the display panel when the alternator is no longer able to charge the batteries. To
service the batteries:
1. Level the vehicle, ground the attachment, place the travel select lever in
the (N) NEUTRAL DETENT position, engage the parking brake switch and
shut off the engine. Unlatch and open the engine cover.
2. The batteries (1) are located inside the engine pod, in front of the hydraulic
oil reservoir (2). The upper battery must be rotated out of the way to gain
access to the lower battery.
3. Wearing safety glasses, visually inspect the batteries for cleanliness.
Check terminals for corrosion. Check the cable connections to ensure
proper tightness. Replace a battery if it has a cracked, melted or damaged
case.
