Important
Read this user manual carefully before you use the
appliance and save it for future reference.
Danger
- Make sure the adapter does not get wet.
Warning
- Check if the voltage indicated on the adapter and on
the appliance corresponds to the local mains voltage
before you connect the appliance.
- The adapter contains a transformer. Do not cut
off the adapter to replace it with another plug, as
this causes a hazardous situation.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a
person responsible for their safety.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they
do not play with the appliance.
Caution
- Never immerse the appliance in water or any other
liquid, nor rinse it under the tap.
- Do not use the appliance in the bath or in the
shower.
- Use and store the appliance at a temperature
between 15°C and 35°C.

- Do not use the appliance if the cutting element or
the hair clipping comb is damaged or broken, as this
may cause injury.
- This appliance is only intended for clipping human
scalp hair. Do not use it for any other purpose.
General
- The adapter transforms 220-240 volts to a safe low
voltage of less than 24 volts.
- This is appliance is not rechargeable and can only be
operated from the mains.
Compliance with standards
This Philips appliance complies with all standards
regarding electromagnetic fields (EMF). If handled
properly and according to the instructions in this user
manual, the appliance is safe to use based on scientific
evidence available today.
Using the appliance
1 Insert the appliance plug into the appliance (Fig. 2).
2 Put the adapter in the wall socket.
Clipping with hair clipping comb
Note: Make sure your hair is clean and dry. Do not use the
appliance on freshly washed hair.
1 Comb your hair with a styling comb in the
direction of hair growth. (Fig. 3)
2 Slide the hair clipping comb into the guiding
grooves of the appliance (‘click’) (Fig. 4).
Make sure that the arms of the comb have been properly
slid into the grooves on both sides.
3 Press the length setting selector (1) and then move
the hair clipping comb up or down (2) to set the
desired length setting (Fig. 5).
, The corresponding hair length is visible on the side
of the comb.
Length settings
With the hair clipping comb attached, the appliance can
cut hair to 10 different lengths:

4 Slide the on/off slide upwards to switch on the
appliance (Fig. 6).
5 Place the hair clipping comb on the scalp and move
the appliance through the hair slowly.
Tips
- Start clipping at the highest length setting of the
hair clipping comb and reduce the length setting
gradually.

General
- El adaptador transforma la corriente de 220-

Uso del aparato
1 Inserte la clavija del aparato en el mismo (fig. 2).

Corte de pelo con el peine-guía para el pelo
Nota: Asegúrese de que el cabello esté limpio y seco. No
utilice el aparato con el pelo recién lavado.
1 Peine el pelo con un peine en la dirección de

2 Deslice el peine-guía para el pelo por las ranuras
de guía del aparato (“clic”) (fig. 4).
Asegúrese de que los brazos del peine-guía se han
deslizado correctamente por las ranuras de ambos lados.
3 Pulse el selector de posiciones de longitud (1) y
después mueva el peine-guía para el pelo hacia
arriba o hacia abajo (2) para ajustar la posición de
longitud deseada (fig. 5).
, La longitud de pelo correspondiente se puede ver
en el lateral del peine.

4 Desplace el interruptor de encendido/apagado para
encender el aparato (fig. 6).
5 Coloque el peine-guía para el pelo en el cuero
cabelludo y mueva el aparato a través de cabello
lentamente.

- To clip in the most effective way, move the appliance
against the direction of hair growth.
- Since hair grows in different directions, you need
to move the appliance in different directions as well
(upward, downward or across) (Fig. 7).
- Make overlapping passes over the head to ensure
that the appliance catches all the hairs that need to
be cut.
- Make sure that the flat part of the hair clipping comb
is fully in contact with the scalp to obtain an even
clipping result.
- To achieve a good result with curly, sparse or long
hair, you can use a styling comb to guide the hair
towards the appliance.
- Regularly remove cut hair from the hair clipping
comb. If a lot of hair has accumulated in the comb,
remove it from the appliance and blow and/or shake
the hair out of it.
Clipping without hair clipping comb
You can use the appliance without hair clipping comb
to clip your hair very close to the skin (0.8mm) or to
contour the neckline and the area around the ears.
1 To remove the hair clipping comb, press the length
setting selector (1), move the comb upwards and
then pull it off the appliance (2). (Fig. 8)
2 Comb the hair ends over the ears before you start
to contour the hairline.
3 Slide the on/off slide upwards to switch on the
appliance (Fig. 6).
4 Tilt the appliance in such a way that only one
edge of the cutting element touches the hair
ends. (Fig. 9)
5 Only cut the hair ends. The hairline has to be close
to the ear.
6 To contour the neckline and the sideburns, turn the
appliance and make downward strokes (Fig. 10).
7 Move the appliance slowly and smoothly. Follow
the natural hairline.
Cleaning
Never use compressed air, scouring pads, abrasive
cleaning agents or aggressive liquids such as alcohol,
petrol or acetone to clean the appliance.
Only clean the appliance and the adapter with the
cleaning brush supplied.
Do not use any sharp objects to clean the appliance.
Clean the appliance after every use.
1 Make sure the appliance is switched off and
disconnected from the mains.
2 To remove the comb, press the length setting
selector (1), move the comb upwards and then pull
it off the appliance (2). (Fig. 8)
3 Push the middle part of the cutting unit upwards
with your thumb until it opens (Fig. 11).
4 Clean the cutting unit with the cleaning brush
supplied (Fig. 12).
5 Clean the inside of the appliance with the cleaning
brush supplied (Fig. 13).
Note: The appliance does not need any lubrication.
Replacement
The cutting unit, the adapter and the hair clipping comb
are replaceable.
Replacing the cutting unit
Replace the cutting unit if it is damaged or worn. Only
replace the cutting unit with an original Philips cutting
unit.
1 Push the middle part of the cutting unit upwards
with your thumb until it opens and then pull it off
the appliance (Fig. 14).
2 Place the lug of the new cutting unit in the slot
and push the cutting unit onto the appliance
(‘click’) (Fig. 15).
Environment
- Do not throw away the appliance with the normal
household waste at the end of its life, but hand it in
at an official collection point for recycling. By doing
this, you help to preserve the environment (Fig. 16).

- Comience a cortar el pelo con la posición más alta

- Para conseguir un buen resultado con pelo rizado,
escaso o largo, utilice un peine para dirigir el pelo
hacia el aparato.
- Elimine con regularidad el pelo cortado que se haya
acumulado en el peine-guía. Si se ha acumulado
mucho pelo, quite el peine-guía del aparato y sople o
sacuda para eliminarlo.
Corte de pelo sin el peine-guía para el pelo
Puede usar el aparato sin peine-guía para cortar el pelo
al ras (0,8 mm) o para perfilar la línea del cuello y la zona
de alrededor de las orejas.
1 Para extraer el peine-guía para el pelo, pulse el
selector de posiciones de longitud (1), mueva el
peine hacia arriba y, a continuación extráigalo del
aparato (2). (fig. 8)
2 Antes de comenzar a perfilar la zona de alrededor
de las orejas, peine las puntas del pelo sobre las
orejas.
3 Desplace el interruptor de encendido/apagado para
encender el aparato (fig. 6).
4 Incline el aparato de forma que sólo un extremo
del elemento de corte toque las puntas del
pelo. (fig. 9)
5 Corte sólo las puntas del pelo. La línea del pelo
debe quedar próxima a la oreja.
6 Para perfilar la línea del cuello y las patillas, dé la
vuelta al aparato y haga pasadas hacia abajo (fig. 10).
7 Mueva el aparato despacio y suavemente. Siga la
línea natural del pelo.
Limpieza
No utilice nunca aire comprimido, estropajos, agentes
abrasivos ni líquidos agresivos, como alcohol, gasolina o
acetona, para limpiar el aparato.
Limpie el aparato y el adaptador únicamente con el
cepillo de limpieza que se suministra.
No utilice objetos afilados para limpiar el aparato.
Limpie siempre el aparato después de usarlo.
1 Asegúrese de que el aparato está apagado y
desenchufado de la red eléctrica.
2 Para extraer el peine, pulse el selector de
posiciones de longitud (1), mueva el peine
hacia arriba y, a continuación extráigalo del
aparato (2). (fig. 8)
3 Presione con el pulgar la parte central de la unidad
de corte hacia arriba hasta que se abra (fig. 11).
4 Limpie la unidad de corte con el cepillo de limpieza
incluido (fig. 12).
5 Limpie también el interior del aparato con el
cepillo de limpieza incluido (fig. 13).
Nota: El aparato no necesita lubricación.

La unidad de corte, el adaptador y el peine-guía para el
pelo se pueden sustituir.

Sustituya la unidad de corte si está dañada o deteriorada.
Únicamente sustituya la unidad de corte por una unidad
de corte original de Philips.
1 Presione con el pulgar la parte central de la unidad
de corte hacia arriba hasta que se abra y sáquela
del aparato (fig. 14).
2 Coloque el saliente de la unidad de corte nueva en
la ranura y presione para encajar la unidad de corte
en el aparato (“clic”) (fig. 15).
Medio ambiente
- Al final de su vida útil, no tire el aparato junto con
la basura normal del hogar. Llévelo a un punto de
recogida oficial para su reciclado. De esta manera
ayudará a conservar el medio ambiente (fig. 16).
