Universal Serial Bus
(USB2.0)
Three Universal Serial Bus (USB) ports enable
chain connection of a number of USB-equipped
devices to one port on your computer.
i.LINK™ (IEEE 1394)
(optional)
This port enables high-speed data transfer
directly from external devices such as digital
video camera (provided with some models).
Video Out Jack
This S-Video out port lets you transfer NTSC or
PAL data to external devices. See the
section in Chapter 8, Optional Devices, for
details.
PC card
A PC card slot accommodates one 5 mm Type II
card.

Sound System
Sound Blaster™ Pro™ and Windows Sound
System compatible sound system provides
internal speakers as well as jacks for an external
microphone and headphones. It also has a
volume control dial.
Modem
An internal modem provides capability for data
and fax communication. It supports V.90 (V.92).
The speed of data and fax transfer depends on
analog telephone line conditions. It has a modem
jack for connecting to a telephone line. Both of
V.90 and V.92 are supported only in USA,
Canada, UK, France, Germany and Australia.
Only V.90 is available in other regions.
LAN
The computer is equipped with a LAN card
that supports Ethernet LAN (10 Mbit/s,
10BASE-T) and Fast Ethernet LAN
(100 Mbit/s, 100BASE TX).
