Getting Ready
Connecting a Digital Voice Recorder
Notes
• Make sure DSS Player for Mac is installed (

P.6) before connecting the
USB connection cable to a Digital Voice Recorder.
• Make sure that the Digital Voice Recorder rear-panel POWER/LOCK switch is
set to ON, the Digital Voice Recorder is stopped, and the Hold switch is released
before connecting the USB connection cable to the Digital Voice Recorder.
1 Insert end A of the USB cable to your PC's USB
port or USB hub.
2 Confirm that the recorder is not in use before
attaching end b of the USB cable to the PC
terminal port of the recorder.
Notes
• Refer to the user's manual for your PC regarding
the USB port or USB hub on your PC.
• Be sure to push the cable connector all the way
in. Otherwise, the recorder may not operate
properly.
• Never remove the USB cable while a
communication session is in progress. Data files
could be damaged if you do.
• You can use the optinal RS23/24 USB
Footswitch for hands-free transcription.
