X. Tandem mode setting
Caution:
• The Master (primary) and Sub (secondary)
machines must have main body ROMs of the
same version number.
• The Master and Sub machines must have the
same optional machine configuration, excluding
the LCC.
The optional machines must have ROMs of the
same version number.
• The Master and Sub machines must have the
same settings of the memory switches made in
Key Operator mode, and of the Software DIP
switches made in 25 mode.
• The Master and Sub machines must have the
same EKC password registered when EKC is
used.
1. Set the main power switch of the main body to its
OFF position.
2. Remove the cover sticker on the right of the rear
side of the main body, then connect the straight
twisted-pair category 5 (100BASE-TX) cable to the
main body.
Connect the straight cable from the main body to
the hub.
Caution:
You may use a cross cable to connect units directly.

3. Set the main power switch to its ON position.
Set the power switch to its ON position while
holding the 2 and 5 keys of the numeric keypad
pressed.
4. Touch to select "1. Software SW setting" on the
25 Mode Menu screen.
5. Touch the screen keypad ([2], [0], right input key,
and [7] in order) to specify “20-7”, then touch “ON
(1)”. (TANDEM connection recognition)
6. Set the power switch to its OFF position.
7. Set the power switch back to its ON position while
holding the HELP button on the control panel
pressed.
8. Touch to select "1. System Initial setting" on the
Key Operator Mode screen.
9. Touch to select "3. IP address setting" on the
System Initial Setting Menu screen.
Set the appropriate IP address / subnet mask /
gateway address and other items according to your
network administrator's instructions.
If you use a cross cable to connect, you can use
the default values.
10. Input other machine address in "IP address
(TAMDEM)."
Caution:
If you selected "OFF (0)" by mistake in step 5, the
"IP address (TANDEM)" key cannot be selected in
step 9.
11. Touch "Line speed setting" on the screen.
12. Set the appropriate line speed according to the
hub or other specifications in the line-speed
setting screen, then touch "OK."
When using a cross cable or if there are no
specifications, leave it as "Automatic."
13. Turn the power OFF and then ON.
Caution:
Perform the above procedure from step 3 to 13
again for the other machine.

Be careful when lifting the main body
When lifting the main body, always use the
handles on the bottom of the right and left sides.
Never lift the main body by grasping the front or
the back.
