Camera problems

Status

Solution

Camera does not
turn on, off; buttons do
not function.

Charge rechargeable batteries (

see page 1

); replace

non-rechargeable batteries.

Camera freezes when
a card is inserted or
removed.

Turn the camera off, then back on. Make sure the camera is
turned off before inserting or removing a card.

LCD is too dark.

Adjust the LCD Brightness setting (

see page 46

).

In Review, a blue or
black screen is
displayed instead of
a picture.

Transfer the picture to the computer (

see page 36

), then format

the card or internal memory (

see page 47

).

Caution: Formatting a card deletes all pictures and
videos.

Take another picture.

In Review, you do not
see a picture (or the
expected picture) on
the LCD.

Format the card in the camera (

see page 47

Flash does not fire.

Check the flash setting, and change as needed (
