Your XE-12D 1:2 DVI Distributor
Congratulations on purchasing your XE-12D, which is ideal for dual monitor applications and
rental and staging. Your XE-12D 1:2 DVI Distributor is a distribution amplifier for DVI-D video
signals. It takes one input and distributes the signal to two identical outputs. The XE-12D is
HDTV compatible and HDCP compliant.
The unit can store and recall a default EDID setting in non-volatile memory from one of the
displays, allowing convenient and reliable connection to the source.
The XE-12D has a maximum data rate of 2.25Gbps, and uses an energy-saving 5V DC
power adapter that’s provided free!
Connecting the XE-12D 1:2 DVI Distributor
To setup your XE-12D, connect:
1. A DVI source (for example, a DVD player) to the INPUT connector.
2. The OUTPUT connectors to DVI acceptors (for example, plasma displays).
3. The 5V DC power adapter to the power socket and connect the adapter to the mains
electricity.
Before acquiring the EDID from OUT 1 or OUT 2 note that:
- When powering the unit it automatically acquires the EDID from the display connected to OUT 1
- If OUT 1 is not connected, the default EDID is acquired
To acquire or change the EDID (after powering up the unit), using the EDID SETUP button:
1. Press and hold the button. The OUT1 and OUT2 LEDs light alternately.
2. Release the button when the OUT LED that lights is the one you want to acquire the EDID.
Note:
Use good quality connection cables to avoid interference, deterioration in signal quality due to poor matching, and elevated noise
levels (often associated with low quality cables) and position your product away from moisture, excessive sunlight and dust.

– No operator-serviceable parts inside unit.
Warning – Use only the XE input power wall adapter that is provided with this unit.
Warning – Disconnect power and unplug unit from wall before installing or removing device or servicing unit.
