Unpacking Your Sander
• Carefully unpack your sander. Remove all packaging materials and fully
familiarise yourself with all features of this product
• If any parts are damaged or missing, have these parts repaired or
replaced before use
Operating Instructions
Fitting sanding sheets
WARNING: Before fitting sanding sheets, ensure that the sander is
disconnected from the power supply.
• The detail sander hook & loop sheets are press fit onto the Sanding Pad
(1). Ensure that sanding sheets are secure before using the machine
• It is important to always use punched paper, and to align the holes in the
paper with those in the pad. The dust extraction mechanism will not
function properly if incorrect sanding sheets are used
Dust extraction
• It is recommended that you connect your sander to a vacuum cleaner, or
dust extractor, using the Dust Extraction Port (2). This will significantly
reduce the dust in the air around the work area
• It is highly recommended that you wear a suitable breathing mask
whenever you operate this machine. All wood and paint dust is hazardous
to health, and some woods are toxic
Switching on
• Always hold the sander securely
• Connect the machine to the mains power supply
• To start machine turn Switch (3) to the 'I' position
• To stop machine turn Switch (3) to the '0' position
Sanding tips
• Always start with a coarse grit paper, and work through progressively to
finer grit papers until the desired finish is achieved
• Only apply moderate pressure to the sander. Pressing too hard onto the
work surface may overheat the motor, or damage the work
• Sand evenly over the work surface, as the machine works in a rotary
motion it is not necessary to work with the grain
• Only use the sander 'flat on' to the work. Tilting the sander onto its edge
will damage your work
Maintenance
Cleaning
• Always keep your machine clean
• Never allow the ventilation holes to become obstructed
• Use a soft brush, or dry cloth, to clean your sander. If it is available, use
clean and dry compressed air to blow dust out of the ventilation holes
• Be especially careful to clean the machine thoroughly if used for both
wood and metal. Sparks from metal work can easily ignite wood dust
Disposal
• Do not dispose of power tools, or other waste electrical and electronic
equipment, with household waste
• Contact your local waste disposal authority for information on the proper
way to dispose of tools
