Installing the Memory Module
This computer uses double-data rate (DDR) memory. Memory from previous iMac models
is not compatible with this computer.
Note: If you are replacing defective memory, rather than adding memory, remove the
defective card before proceeding.
1. Insert the memory module into the expansion slot (Figure 5).

2. Make sure the memory card is fully inserted into the slot. Check that the notches in
the card clear the tabs as you press down on the sides of the card to lock it into place.
Press down gently on the memory until you hear it click into place under the two
locking tabs on the sides of the slot (Figure 6).
