o subwoofers use dual 4 ohm voice coils. The use of dual

4 ohm voice coils makes these woofers very versatile, but a little trickier

to wire. Please pay close attention to the following guidelines.

It is very important to know the limits of your amplifier and how to

properly wire your woofers to match. Most amplifiers today are stable

into 2 ohm stereo or 4 ohm mono/bridged. There are also some amps that

are stable down to 1/2 ohm. Mono is a term used to describe the

combining of both left and right audio signals and bridged describes

the combining of power into one channel. It is always a good idea to use

your woofers in a mono/bridged mode, if your amplifier has this

capability. Almost all Owners Manuals will list the amplifiers load rating,

so please check before deciding how to wire your speakers.

There are three different types of wiring configurations used in car audio.

They are described as, series, parallel, and series-parallel. You can change

the impedance or “load” depending on the quantity of woofers and how

they are wired. Please use the diagrams bellow to help choose the proper

wiring configuration for your system.

There are three different series, consisting of eight different models
contained in this manual. It is necessary to pay close attention to your
specific woofer when deciding on a particular enclosure. Failure to use
the correct enclosure will result in lower power handling and poor sound
quality.

Please take the time to carefully read your Owners Manual; it’s the key
to musical success.
