Asanté Gigabit Ethernet switches are ideal for:
• Aggregating traffic from other switches (IC38480, IC36240, IC35160-T)
• Workgroups connecting desktops, servers and peripherals
The integrated Gigabit ports will run 10/100/1000 Mbps using Category 5 UTP for 100 meters/328 feet.
Gigabit Fiber Switches (1000BaseSX, 1000BaseLX)
These Asanté IntraCore switches use industry-standard GBIC modules for all fiber connections. They are
well-suited as backbone and aggregation switches.
Asanté GBIC modules include GBIC-1000SX (multimode, 850nm wavelength, 62.5µ core, 220
meters/721 feet) and GBIC-1000LX (single mode, 1300nm, 62.5µ core, 550 meters/1,804 feet).
Fast Ethernet Swit ches (10/100BaseTX)
These economical 10/100 switches are used primarily in workgroups to connect desktops and printers.
Gigabit ports, available on some models, provide high-speed connections to the network backbone.
