Special Safety instructions

The term press jaw also includes main Jaw and
press ring.

ROMAX Compact:

Never hold your fingers or other body parts in the
working area of the cylinder or the press jaws.

Remove the battery before carrying out any work
on the machine.

If the device is so badly damaged that electric
cables or drive parts are exposed, disconnect the
mains plug immediately and contact your service
outlet. Unauthorised repair work may result in the
user suffering major injuries or even death. Only
personnel trained in how to use the device may
make crimp pipe joints using the ROMAX
Compact.

The machine may only be used with a press jaw
inserted into it. The press jaw must be in perfect
technical condition.

Only start the machine if it is in perfect working
order.

Servicing and repair work may only be carried out
by workshops authorised by ROTHENBERGER.

Use only suitable press jaws and press fitting
systems that have been approved by
ROTHENBERGER.

After you have inserted the press jaw check that
the bolt is securely locked.

In the event of problems during the pressing
process, press the EMERGENCY STOP button.

Check that the pipe joint is secure after you have
completed the pressing process.

Imperfect pipe joints must be compressed again
using a new fitting.

Follow the installation instructions supplied by the
fitting and pipe manufacturers.

Assure by pressing leaky press fittings that no
humidity respectivily lotic water reaches into the
inside of the machine!

After finishing the work, check the installation with
appropriate testing equipment and assure that it is
leakproof!

Battery / Charger:

This appliance is not intended for use by persons
(including children) with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and
knowledge, unless they have been given
supervision or instruction concerning use of the
appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
Children should be supervised to ensure that they
do not play with the appliance.

RISK OF EXPLOSION!
Physical injury!
The battery charger may
not be used to charge other batteries or
rechargeable batteries.

Ventilation slots of the battery charger must not be
covered up.

Please pay attention to the following symbol on
the label of the charger:

This tool is only suitable for indoor use.
Never expose tool to rain.

No metal parts must be allowed to enter the
battery section of the charger (short circuit risk).

RISK OF FIRE! Short-circuit! Do
not bridge contacts of the
battery charger with metal
parts!

Do not charge battery in direct sunlight. Only
use the battery in an ambient temperature
between -10°C and 60°C.

RISK OF FIRE! Never charge batteries
near acids and highly flammable
materials.

Battery fluid may leak from damaged removable
batteries under conditions of extreme load or
extreme temperatures. Any areas that have come
into contact with battery fluid should be washed
immediately with soap and water. If battery fluid
comes into contact with the eyes rinse them
thoroughly for at least 10 minutes and consult a
doctor immediately.

Do not store batteries with metal objects (danger
of short circuit).

Check before each use: Carry out a visual
inspection each time before using the battery
charger.

Never charge a damaged battery pack. Replace by
a new one.

The mains power cable / charging cable must be
inspected regularly for signs of damage and ageing
(brittleness) and may only be used in perfect
condition.

Never break open battery packs and chargers and
store only in dry rooms. Keep dry at all times.

End of charging / storage:

So that the fully charged battery is not discharged,
the battery should be disconnected from the
battery charger.

Store the battery charger with disconnected mains
plug.

Storage temperature 0° - 30°C.
