6. If the drill shuts down, it is usually the result of being overloaded or improperly used. Release the

trigger immediately and remove the drill from the work.

7. To minimize overloads, reduce the pressure applied to drill.
8. Be sure to keep the motor running when backing the bit out of the hole. This will prevent the bit

from jamming.

CHANGING SPEEDS

1. The CB500-HH Drill motor is designed to be operated in one of two speeds.
2. Changing gears may be accomplished more easily by slowly rotating the spindle. Be sure that the

lever completely engages the new gear. The drill must be off and unplugged while rotating
the spindle. Never shift gears while the motor is running.

3. Never change gears when the unit is under load.
4. Changing of speeds is accomplished by using the speed selector knob located on the bottom of

the spindle. For cutting in low the speed range (slow speed), turn the selector knob so that the
arrow is pointing to the “L”. For cutting in the high speed (fast speed) range, turn the selector so
that the arrow is pointing to the “H”.

5. If the motor is not operating, it may be necessary to move the spindle slightly to engage a gear.

When doing so make sure that the drill motor is off and unplugged.
