DefenderWorx 2010 Chevrolet “CAMARO”
Logo Gear Shifter Installation Instructions
For AUTOMATIC transmissions only!
1. Remove the screw cover from the front facing side of the original shift
knob/handle.
2. Remove the hex screw from the front facing side of the original shift
knob/handle where the screw cover was.
3. Remove original shift knob/handle from the stem.
4. Slide the lower half of the DefenderWorx shifter (the inner shifter) over the
pointed stem, inserting the hole along the bottom panel of the shifter and
tighten the two set screws (do not over tighten the screws).
5. Take the spring out of the upper part of the DefenderWorx shifter (the
pistol grip part) and place the spring over the pointed stem that is sticking
out of the lower half of the DefenderWorx shifter (the inner shifter).
6. Place the upper part of DefenderWorx shifter (the pistol grip part) over the
spring and inner shifter.
7. Push the upper part of the DefenderWorx shifter all the way down so it is
sitting straight and flush against the inner shifter and tighten the set screw
(do not over tighten).
8. If the handle on your new DefenderWorx shifter is a little loose take the
handle off of the inner shifter and loosen the four adjustable nylon set
screws on the shaft of the inner shifter. In order to loosen these screws
you will need to use a 6-32 Allen Wrench. Insert the wrench through the
holes in the shaft on the opposite side of the nylon set screws. You can
then loosen/tighten the set screws allowing the inner shifter to expand a bit
on the inside of the handle and eliminate some of the play you might be
having. Once the handle’s tightness has been adjusted to your liking
repeat steps 5-7.
The shifter is spring loaded and should now change gears without a problem!
