Air Cylinder Disassembly:



NOTE: Refer to the drawing for part numbers

1. Remove the E-ring (APP-9102) from the piston rod (VPH-4259 or MPH-3253). Lift the

sleeve (APP-9109) up and remove the two connectors (APP-9096).

NOTE: The following procedures assume that the Powerhead is oriented so that
the Piston Rod is pointing down. For Powerheads that have been removed from
their units they can be disassembled from either orientation (Piston Rod pointing
up or down).


2. Remove the three (3) Hex Nuts (F-HN-05F) from the Tie Rods.

3. Pull the Upper End Cap (VPH-4256) off the Cylinder (VPH-4252 or MPH-4251)

CAUTION: Use care not to scratch the inside of the Cylinder when removing the
Piston.


4. Slide the Piston Rod (MPH-3253 or VPH-4259) from the Lower End Cap.

5. Using a pair of snap ring pliers, remove the Snap Ring from the Piston Rod

Bushing.

6. Remove the Piston Rod Bushing from the Lower End Cap (VPH-4255).

7. Replace all O-rings and coat with lithium grease (08465). Coat the inside of the

Cylinder, Piston Rod and Piston Rod Bushing with lithium grease (08465).
