Line Level Adapter
The TA1 Line Level Adapter is designed for connecting an
Audio/Video Teleconferencing Hybrid to Lectrosonics auto
matic mixers. It can also be used to add a line level audio
input or interconnect a tape recorder to the mixer.
With the AUTO MIX switch in the “ON” position, the video
codec (or other audio source) will participate in the auto
matic mixing algorithm applied by the mixer.
cases, this will eliminate the need for acoustic echo cancel
lation within the hybrid in teleconferencing applications that
use a sound system with multiple microphones and loud
speakers. In addition, an incoming signal from the far end of
the telephone or ISDN line will attenuate the gain on the
local microphones to eliminate acoustical coupling between
microphones and loudspeakers that could cause a feed
back loop.
The TA1 picks up a “mix minus” output from the mixer
expansion bus. This output contains all inputs connected to
the mixer, but does not include the signal connected to the
INPUT jack on the TA1. This arrangement provides simulta
neous send/receive for a teleconferencing hybrid and
prevents the output of a tape recorder in the “record” mode
from getting back to the input.
When used with the AM8 or AM16 mixer, TH3 telephone
hybrid, and a video codec, 3-site bridging can be accom
plished without the need for any other routing device.
The TA1 comes with two 24” eight pin expansion cables,
part # 21592.
