compressor switch is turned off. To test the water pump rotation turn the pump
switch on and off quickly. The pump impeller should rotate in the direction of the
arrow located on the pump. Air Cooled only, fan motor when viewed from top of
unit is C.W. The water pump switch must be on to check fan motor. With this
switch on you can turn the compressor switch on to check rotation. You can lower
the sound level of the fan motors if you add 6' of open duct to both fans. PLEASE
NOTE when the water pump is turning the proper rotation. The water pump switch
must be on in order to check rotation of fan motor. The refrigeration system will not
run unless the water pump switch is in the on position.

7. Set the thermostat to control the desired temperature. Caution: Never set

temperature of chilled water Below 38

° F unless you add an industrial type

antifreeze. No automotive type. Do not add more antifreeze than necessary. It
does lower the BTU rating. DO NOT SET TEMPERATURE BELOW 30

° F or over

80

° F.

8. With the temperature controller set, the compressor can be turned on by the

manual switch. The refrigeration system is now running. It should be noted that
there could be a two or three degree difference between the temperature control
setting and the dial thermometer. Use the dial thermometer as a guide. Once set,
the temperature controller will control the temperature of the water automatically.

9. This unit is not weatherproof and should not be installed outdoors. Outdoor

installation is possible in some areas of the country. Please check with the factory
for more information.

INSTRUCTION FOR TEMPERATURE CONTROL

Please note the dial thermometer and thermostat are both an indicator of the chilled
water temperature. You will not necessary find the both to read the same temperature.
They are installed in a copper weld at the bottom of the chilled reservoir. We consider
the thermostat as the true chilled water temperature. This is the controller for cycling the
refrigeration system off and on.

NOTE: You can adjust the dial thermometer if you find it necessary. You do this by
removing the lens. The lens is removable by prying gently on the lens. Then with the
lens out you hold the pointer with one hand and turn the center knob. You then turn the
center pointer counter clockwise to lower and clockwise to raise the temperature. You
need not turn this knob too far. A slight turn will change its temperature enough.
The dial thermometer should be set at the time the thermostat is cycling unit off. If you
do not care to make this change, it is important you let those operating the processing
equipment be aware that there will be a difference between the thermostat and the dial
thermometer. We recommend you note any difference between the thermostat and the
dial thermometer.
