Weatherproof Call Station, 1 Toggle
Description Level Crossing Intercom:
Because of varying distances between the individual components, and the
technical requirements resulting from this, the level crossing intercom is made in
two variations:
Variation 1: Operation on non-isolated lines
The call stations at level crossings are supplied centrally from the
DVS-21.
Variation 2:
Operation on isolated lines
The call stations at level crossings are supplied locally with 48 V.

The above illustration shows the configuration of an level crossing intercom with
two central exchanges connected through an E1 interface.
When only one DVS-21 is used then the 4FTR (with E1 attachment) is
unnecessary.
The distances possible between the individual components vary depending on the
sections:
Section 1: Distance between the DVS-21 systems.
With suitable 2 Mbit/s transmission technology any distances
are possible.
Section 2:
Distance between control call station and the DVS-21 system.
Typical range <500 m
Section 3: Distance between the level crossing (level crossing call
stations) and the DVS-21 system.
The distances achievable in section 3 depend on the kind of supply and the cable
diameter used.
