24 PNEG-1623 Roof Stairs and Handrail Assembly
8. Manway Handrail
36'-60' w/ Round Manway
( Refer to Page 25 and Page 26 for details.)
1. Loosely assemble handrail posts (LDR-4392) to post attach weld (LDR-4228) using 5/16" hardware.
2. Loosely attach corner insert weldment (LDR-4390) to handrail posts.
3. Place pipe handrails (LDR-4398) between the corner insert weldments. After the correct spacing is
found, secure with 1/4" self-drilling screws. (See Detail D on Page 26 .)
4. Place upper and lower handrail weldments (LDR-5123 and LDR-5122) onto corner insert weld and
attach on the other end to the three (3) step bottom stair section handrails. Field drilling attachment
holes and cutting of the pipe may be required to secure handrail weldments to stair section
weldment. Secure on the other end with 1/4" self-drilling screws to the corner insert weldments.
5. After the spans are covered and the handrails are secured, the three (3) post attach welds can be
field drilled to the roof rib as shown in Detail C on Page 26 . The connecting band (LDR-4388) and
the toe board (LDR-5126) can now be placed and field drilled where necessary. (Refer to Detail C
and Detail D
on Page 26 .)
6. Tighten all hardware after it is loosely assembled. NOTE: 5/16" Hardware is used at all connections
and a 5/16" washer must be used for all slotted connections.
