(DOC),whichusesachemicalprocesstoconvertregulatedemissionsintheexhaustsystem,anda
Diesel Particulate Filter(DPF)thattrapsparticulatematterthatis carriedintotheexhauststream.
TheDOC,DPFandCatRegenerationSystemarecontainedinaCaterpillardesignedCleanEmissions
Module(CEM)thatprotectsthecomponents,minimizestheaftertreatmentfootprintandsimplifies
maintenance.Forhighdebrisapplicationsthatrequirethermalshieldsonexhaustcomponents,an
optionalinsulatedCEMisavailablefortheD7E.
Cat Regeneration System
TheCatRegenerationSystemisdesignedtoworktransparently,withoutanyinteractionneededfrom
theoperator.Undermostoperatingconditions,engineexhaustishotenoughtooxidizesootthrough
passiveregeneration.If supplementalregenerationisneeded,theCatRegenerationSystemelevates
exhaustgastemperaturestoburnoffsootintheDieselParticulateFilter(DPF).Thisisaprocessthat
happensautomatically,buttheoperatorcaninitiatethecyclewhenconvenientorinterruptregeneration
asneeded.AsootlevelmonitorandregenerationindicatorlightsareintegratedintotheD7Edash
display.
Key Off Regeneration–OptionalKeyOffRegenerationallowstheoperatortoinitiatearegeneration
cycleafterthekeyhasbeenturnedoff.Ifacycletakesplace,theenginewillcompleteregeneration,
followedbyacooldownperiodprior toshuttingdown.
Delayed Engine Shutdown–DelayedEngineShutdownfeatureisavailabletoallowthemachinetocool
immediatelyafteraheavyworkloadorregenerationcycle.
Engine Idle Shutdown Timer–AnoptionalEngineIdleShutdowntimerwillsoundawarningandshut
downtheengineafterthemachinehasbeenidlingforapre-setperiodoftime.
