Using Focus Lock
When taking a picture, your camera automatically focuses on the object in the center of the viewfinder. If
you want the camera to focus on a subject that is not in the center of the picture, you can use the camera’s
focus lock feature to set the focus.
To take a picture using focus lock:
1 Set the Mode switch to Capture.
2 Turn the camera on.
3 Position the subject on which you want the camera to focus in the center of the viewfinder.
4 Press the Shutter button halfway down and hold it. You will hear a clicking sound as the lens adjusts to
the distance.
5 While continuing to press the Shutter button halfway down (thereby focusing on the object of interest),
frame your picture, and then press the Shutter button down fully to take a picture.
