Displays and Media
With two HDMI inputs and one output, the
HT-SR800 is the perfect complement for high-
definition displays and media. With HDMI as the
video conduit, the HT-SR800 will effortlessly
transport and enable the full potential of Blu-ray,
HD-DVD, DVD, HD broadcasts and gaming. HDMI
will deliver 720p, 1080i and 1080p video signals
from two sources for one connection direct to your
HDTV. Its 1080p pass-thru capability is perfect for
getting the highest possible video resolution from
PlayStation
® 3 and dedicated Blu-ray Disc and HD-
DVD players.

Component Video Switching (50 MHz)
with HDTV Connectivity
Giving you even more integration, the HT-SR800
will take up to three of the latest A/V
components—including DVRs and the latest gaming
consoles—connected simultaneously for one
component video output to an HDTV.
Wide Range Amplifier Technology (WRAT)
Providing Amplification Backbone
Without a time-tested amplifier design and precise
digital-to-analog conversion process, the most
advanced processing features cannot deliver a
higher standard of audio from the latest high-
definition video and audio formats. WRAT is based
on three key factors: (1) A low negative-feedback
design for cleaner audio across the frequency range;
(2) Closed ground-loop circuits to cancel individual
circuit noise and keep the ground potential free of
distortion; and (3) A High Instantaneous-Current
Capability to handle speaker reflex energy and
impedance fluctuations. WRAT will bring the best
out of movie, music, broadcast and gaming sources.
Audyssey 2EQ/HTIB for the Ideal
Loudspeaker Response
Sound from your loudspeakers is affected by walls,
furniture and other objects in your room, creating
peaks and dips at different frequencies.To counter
this, Audyssey (in collaboration with Onkyo) has
developed the first in its combination of room-
correction technologies specifically designed for
home theatre packages. Audyssey 2EQ/HTIB works
by combining speaker calibration with room
correction to deliver optimally tuned sound for
affordable home theatre packages. First, the speakers
are pre-calibrated to optimize the speaker system.
Then 2EQ performs room correction to remove
distortion, thereby creating the perfect match
between the speakers and your room.The end
result is an ideal loudspeaker response that ensures
your movies and music sound exactly as they should.

These speakers can easily handle the most dynamic
film soundtracks and provide good music
reproduction as well. Given the low-frequency
energy requirements of home theatre, the package
is anchored around its 230 W bass amplification.The
front, center and surround speakers provide the

audio signals.
