Wide Range Amplifier Technology
(WRAT) Providing Amplification
Backbone
Without a time-tested amplifier design and precise
digital-to-analog conversion process, the most
advanced processing features cannot deliver a
higher standard of audio from the latest high-
definition video and audio formats. WRAT is based
on three key factors: (1) A low negative-feedback
design for cleaner audio across the frequency range;
(2) Closed ground-loop circuits to cancel individual
circuit noise and keep the ground potential free of
distortion; and (3) A High Instantaneous-Current
Capability to handle speaker reflex energy and
impedance fluctuations. WRAT will bring the best
out of movie, music, broadcast and gaming sources.
Component Video Switching (50 MHz)
with Single Connection to HDTV
With three component video inputs, you can have
up to three of today’s latest A/V components—
think DVD/universal players, cable/set-top boxes,
DVRs and gaming consoles such as the Xbox and
PlayStation 3—connected simultaneously for output
to the latest flat-panel and rear-projection displays.
With a frequency range out to 50 MHz, you have
more than enough bandwidth to pass 720p and
1080i signals (which require at least 37 MHz of
bandwidth) to a high-definition display.
Audyssey 2EQ to Counteract Room
Acoustic Problems and Calibrate
Speakers
Audyssey 2EQ counters distortion created by walls,
furniture and other objects. It detects speaker
distance, and then sets levels, delays, and crossovers
and measures room acoustics. Compared to one-
position room correction systems, Audyssey 2EQ
covers a much wider listening area. Moreover, it
corrects problems in both frequency response and
time domain (where most of the problems lie) in
the entire listening area. The results are immediately
obvious—a clear, well-balanced and natural sound.
Access to a Full Suite of Surround Sound
and Hi-Def Formats
The TX-SR505 has the onboard codecs to effectively
reproduce stereo and multichannel sources in
enveloping 6.1 or 7.1 surround sound. Also, by
connecting a compatible HD-DVD or Blu-ray Disc
player with 5.1- or 7.1-line level outputs to the
TX-SR505’s 7.1-multichannel inputs, you’ll be able to
experience surround sound from Blu-ray and DVD-
HD discs.

Fine-Tuning Features Including Crossover
Adjustment and A/V Synchronization
With a wide-ranging crossover adjustment—40/50/
60/80/100/120/150/200 Hz— the TX-SR505 gives
you greater capacity to choose from a range of
speaker packages. You can accurately control bass
management to suit your speakers and your
preferences.The A/V synchronization feature,
meanwhile, addresses the problem of out-of-sync
audio and video signals on DVD players using
progressive scan. You can delay the audio signal up
to 100 milliseconds in 20-millisecond steps to realign
the audio and video output.
Fully Compatible with the iPod Family
Courtesy of the Onkyo RI Dock
The ubiquitous iPod has revolutionized how we
listen to and store our music and video. With
Onkyo’s RI Dock (sold separately), you can integrate
