Set the ringer switch to
HI
in a
noisy room or
LO
in a quiet
room. To turn off the ringer, set
it to
OFF
. You can still make
calls with the ringer off and you
can also receive calls if you
hear another phone on the
same line ring.
Press
to temporarily switch
to tone dialing when using pulse
service.
Press
REDIAL
to dial the last
number dialed (up to 32 digits).
Press the switchhook to
disconnect a call.
Press
STORE
once to enter the phone
number you want to store. See “Storing/
Dialing Numbers in Memory.”
Set the switch to
LO
,
MED
,
or
HI
to adjust the handset
volume to a comfortable
listening level.
STORING/DIALING NUMBERS IN MEMORY
To store a number into memory:
1. Lift the handset (or press
SPEAKERPHONE
) and
press
STORE
.
2. Enter the telephone number you want to store (up to
16 digits).
3. Press
P1
,
P2
, or
P3
to store the number into that
memory location, then return the handset to the cra-
dle (or press
SPEAKERPHONE
) .
To dial a number in memory:
1. Lift the handset (or press
SPEAKERPHONE
).
2. Press
P1
,
P2
, or
P3
.
Note:
If you store an emergency service’s number (po-
lice, fire department, ambulance) and you want to test
the stored number, make the test call during the late
evening or early morning hours to avoid peak demand
periods. Remain on the line to explain the reason for
your call.
Switch to
TONE
or
PULSE
to
match the type of service you
have.
Use this holder to hold the handset
temporarily without disconnecting
a call.

Note: The phone company charges to install any neces-
sary jacks. The USOC number of the jack to be installed
is RJ11C (or RJ11W for a wall mount).

Plug the handset cord into the jacks on the handset and
base.
Plug one end of the supplied long telephone cord into the
jack on the back of the base. Plug the other end into a
modular phone jack.
Attach the mounting bracket as shown.
If you mount the phone on the wall, press up on the hand-
set cradle hook to remove it. Then turn it over so its
tabbed edge faces up, and press it back down into its slot.
