Low volume or
unusual sounds.
Someone has picked up another phone on
the same line. Hang up the other phone.
If you are using the headset, make sure
the headset’s plug is properly connected to
the jack.
Severe noise inter-
ference.
Keep the handset away from computers,
remote control toys, wireless microphones,
alarm systems, intercoms, room monitors,
fluorescent lights, and electrical appli-
ances.
Move to another location or turn off the
source of interference.
Press CHANNEL to change the channel.
Hang up and redial the number.
The phone does not
work properly.
Be sure the base’s phone line cord and AC
adapter are correctly and securely
connected.
Be sure the battery pack in the handset is
connected and charged.
Return the handset to the base to reset the
security access-protection code.
The handset stops
working or works
poorly during a call.
Move the handset closer to the base.
Be sure the handset’s battery pack is
charged.
The handset’s range
has decreased and
the phone cannot be
operated at a useful
distance from the
base because the
signal becomes
weak or noisy.
Be sure the handset’s and base’s antenna
is not touching a metal surface.
The handset battery
pack does not
charge.
Check the charging contacts on the hand-
set and base. If they are dirty, clean them
with a pencil eraser.
Be sure the battery pack is connected cor-
rectly.
Be sure the handset is properly seated on
the base.
The handset does
not ring or receive a
page.
Move the handset closer to the base.
Return the handset to the base to recharge
the battery pack.
Move the base away from other electrical
devices.
