Trimming the Nape of Your Neck

■ You will need a hand mirror for this operation if performing it alone.

The mirror is not necessary if trimming is performed by a second person.

■ Before you begin, remove the hair length

attachment, and make sure that the wide trimmer
blade is in position. If the narrow, nose and ear
trimmer is up, press the button on the back of
trimmer head to allow the pivoting head to swivel
the wide trimmer (beard/neckline) to the up
position.

■ Use your fingers to lift the hair at the base of your

head up off the neck. Your index finger should be covering the roots of
the hairs you are lifting to prevent accidental removal by groomer.

■ Using your other hand, hold the groomer horizontally to the base of your

neck with the cutting unit facing up, and move the groomer along the
length of the neck until the unit touches your finger covering the hair
roots at the base of your head. Repeat this procedure for the entire area
of the neck. Be sure to move the unit slowly when performing this
operation and to keep the hair roots at the base of your head out of the
way of the groomer.

■ Use the hand mirror to inspect the results of the operation and ensure

all hairs along the nape of the neck have been trimmed.

To Define the Beard Line

■ Remove the hair length attachment.
■ Hold groomer with trimmer cutting blade facing you.
■ Start with edge of beard line, and with the cutting blades resting lightly

against your skin, use motions toward edge of beard line to trim the beard
line to desired locations in facial area and away from beard in neck area.

To Thin and Taper the Beard

■ Remove the hair length attachment.
■ Use the unit’s styling comb or a small comb to

comb and hold the beard hairs in place while trim-
ming.

■ Holding the groomer with the cutting unit facing

away from you, move the groomer along the length
of the comb.

The Best Technique for Nose & Ear

Before you begin, press the button on the back of trimmer head to allow the
pivoting head to swivel and change the wide trimmer (beard/neckline) to the
narrow, nose and ear trimmer.

Here are a few tips for trimming the various parts of your face.

To remove hair from nose:
■ Nose, ear, eyebrow attachment should be in position.
■ Turn groomer on.
■ Insert groomer’s cutting unit gently into the

nostril.

■ Rotate groomer in a circular motion around the

opening of the nostril.

■ For best cutting efficiency, gently move the

groomer in and out of the nostril as you rotate the groomer.

■ Avoid inserting the groomer more than 1/4” into your nostril to ensure

safe trimming.

To remove hair from ear:
■ Nose, ear, eyebrow attachment should be in position.
■ Turn groomer on.
■ Insert groomer’s cutting unit gently into the outer

ear canal opening.

■ Gently rotate groomer in a circular motion.
■ To trim hairs protruding from the surface of the ear

surrounding the outer ear canal, guide the groomer
around the edge of the ear.

■ Avoid inserting the groomer more than 1/4” into your ear canal to

ensure safe trimming.

To remove hair from eyebrows:
■ Nose, ear, eyebrow attachment should be in position.
■ Turn groomer on.
■ Gently guide cutting unit to stray, unwanted hairs

along the eyebrow line or protruding from the
eyebrow itself.

■ Move the unit slowly and carefully so as not to

accidentally cut any hairs you do not intend to
trim. It is not recommended that you use the groomer to define or trim
the entire eyebrow.

Changing Attachments

Remove an attachment by pushing the back of the attachment
forward to release the rear latch. Insert an attachment by
inserting the front first, then rocking back to set the rear latch.
Be careful not to press down on the foil on the shaver
attachment, as it is delicate.

To Use the MiniScreen Shaver:

Hold the groomer so the mini screen gently touches your face.
This allows the unit to work the way it was designed for the
closest shave and minimum screen wear. Avoid holding the
groomer at an angle. This will distort the screen and may
cause some skin irritations.

Use short, detail strokes to trim around your beard/mustache.
Use your free hand to stretch your skin. This encourages your
whiskers to stand out, making it easier for them to enter
the cutting chamber.

Please note: The MiniScreen shaver was designed to shave the
detail areas around your beard/mustache/sideburns. It was not
designed to shave your entire face–for a close comfortable
shave, guaranteed, use one of Remington’s electric razors.

Cleaning and Maintaining
Your Groomer

Clean your groomer regularly to ensure your unit’s operating life
is not prematurely shortened.

■ Groomer should always be shut off during cleaning.
■ Do not apply pressure or hard objects to cutters.
■ Do not use harsh or corrosive cleaners on unit or cutters.

Cleaning with brush
■ Thoroughly brush and blow out hair clippings from cutter,

bottom of attachments and top of power handle.

Lubrication
Cutters are permanently lucricated at the factory. Do not rinse
the cutters with water or any other liquid. Clean only by brushing
hair clippings out of cutter areas.
