21-pin scart cable (not included)
AV1 (TV OUT):
Connect to the 21-pin scart (IN) terminal on a television if
you have connected equipment to AV2 (DVD IN) or AV3
(DVR/VCR1 IN). This unit must be on to output audio/video
signals to the television.
AV2 (DVD IN):
Connect to the 21-pin scart (OUT) terminal on a DVD player.
Change the AV output setting for DVD to “SCART” (

page 22).
AV3 (DVR/VCR1 IN):
Connect to the 21-pin scart (OUT) terminal on a DVD
recorder or VCR. Change the AV output setting for VCR to
“SCART” (

page 22). For Q Link* to work, connect to this
terminal.

The remote control
• Insert so the poles (+ and –) match those in the remote
control.
• Do not use rechargeable type batteries.
Aim at the sensor, avoiding obstacles, at a maximum range of
7 m directly in front of the unit.

• Keep the transmission window and the unit’s sensor free from
dust.
• Operation can be affected by strong light sources, such as
direct sunlight, and the glass doors on cabinets.
Note
• Use digital connection to enjoy Dolby Digital or DTS.
Notes on digital input
This unit can decode the following signals:
• Dolby Digital, DTS
• PCM, including PCM with sampling frequencies of 96
or 88.2 kHz
It cannot decode:
• Other digital signals, such as MPEG
• Dolby Digital RF signals from a laser disc player

Insertion of connector
Even when the connector is perfectly inserted, depending on the type
of inlet used, the front part of the connector may jut out as shown in
the drawing.
However there is no problem using the unit.
