Turn on your computer.
Install the Palm™ Desktop software.
Note: You must install the Palm™ Desktop software before you install the
PalmConnect ® USB software. Even if you are using Microsoft Outlook or
other organizer software instead of Palm Desktop software, you still need to
complete this process to install HotSync
® Manager.
Important! Make sure the PalmConnect USB to serial port adapter is NOT
connected to your PC. Wait until you are instructed to connect it in step 4.
• If Palm Desktop 3.0 or later is already installed on your PC, skip to step 3.
• Insert the Palm Desktop CD-ROM that came with your handheld and follow the
onscreen instructions.
Note: The installer will prompt you to connect the cradle to the serial port on your
PC and choose a Com port. These steps are optional since the PalmConnect
USB to serial port adapter and software use a USB port.
Insert the PalmConnect USB CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive on your PC.
Make the connection.
• Connect the USB to serial port adapter to
your cradle connector (or HotSync Cable).
• Connect the USB to serial port adapter
to the USB port on your PC.
Note: The AC adapter is only
required for Palm V™
organizer users.
