cleaning the kettle and the base
1
Clean the outside of the kettle and the base with a soft cloth moistened with warm water
and some mild cleaning agent.
Do not let the moist cloth come into contact with the cord, the plug and the connector of the base.
Cleaning the filter
Scale is not harmful to your health but it may give your drink a powdery taste. The anti-scale filter
prevents scale particles from ending up in your drink.
Clean the Triple action anti-scale filter regularly in the following way:
1
Take the entire filter out of the kettle (Fig. 16).
2
Slide the basket off the filter and take the stainless steel mesh out of the basket.
3
To clean the mesh, squeeze and rotate it under a running tap.
4
Gently clean the filter with a soft nylon brush.
5
Put the mesh back into the filter basket and slide the basket onto the filter again. Then slide
the filter back into the kettle.
Note: You can also clean the filter in two other ways. Leave the filter in the kettle when you descale the
kettle (see section ‘Descaling the kettle’) or remove it from the kettle and clean it in the dishwasher.
Descaling the kettle
Regular descaling prolongs the life of the kettle.
In case of normal use (up to 5 times a day), the following descaling frequency is recommended:
- Once every 3 months for soft water areas (up to 18dH).
- Once every month for hard water areas (more than 18dH).
1
Fill the kettle with white vinegar (8% acetic acid) up to three-quarters of the maximum level.
2
Add water to the maximum level.
3
Bring the water to boil.
