– PPP (Point-to-Point Protocol), with a user name and
password
– PPPoE (PPP over Ethernet)
– RFC 1483 (SNAP Encapsulation)
– RFC 1483 MER (MAC Encapsulated Routing,
requiring a WAN gateway address)
– VCI (PVC) numbers
• Network options:
– Bridging
– IP Routing (requires a WAN IP address and subnet
mask)
