Part 3. Operation
This section describes how to use the DDS drive, and how to handle data
cartridges.
How to use the DDS Drive

Press the POWER switch on the front panel.
The POWER indicator should light, and the STATUS, BUSY and TAPE
indicators should blink as the self-test is performed.

When the three indicators stop blinking, you can insert a data cartridge as
shown below. The TAPE indicator will blink, and if the cartridge is write-
protected, the STATUS indicator will light.

Computer software controls the reading and writing of tapes. While
reading or writing, the BUSY indicator blinks.
