Taking the device into use
Take the device out of the carton and remove all packaging >
and adhesive foils.
Operation with the built-in Ni-MH batteries
First of all, charge up the built-in batteries. For this, fold out >
the dynamo grip on the rear of the device and turn the
dynamo lever f for several minutes at approx. 120 revolu-
tions per minute in any direction.
Battery operation
The device can also be operated with batteries (not supplied).
Open the battery compartment on the rear of the device >
by unscrewing and removing the lock-device on the battery
compartment cover h.
Now remove the battery compartment cover

and place it
to one side.
Insert 3 x 1.5V batteries of the type "AA/Mignon/LR6" as

per the insertion markings shown in the battery compartment.
Pay heed to the correct poling of the batteries, otherwise

the device will not function and could even be damaged.
Replace the battery compartment cover

and screw it
down firmly with the lock-device h.
Connecting the mains adapter
You can operate the device with a power adapter (not supplied)
that concurs with the specifications given in the section "Technical
Data".
Using a fingernail, open the rubber cover >

Insert the barrel plug of the power adapter into the socket >
for the power supply (DC 4.5V) k on the device.
