If the video coaxial cable used to connect the
COMPONENT VIDEO OUT jacks of the
player and your TV is too long, the 1080i/
720p signals are weakened during
transmission over the cable (high frequency
transmission cable loss). This function
compensates for such high frequency
transmission cable loss.

• If the type of your connecting cable or connector

differs from those recommended, optimum
values may not be achieved.

• If the settings are higher than those

recommended, the fine details on the screen may
become too harsh.

Audio Settings

The default settings are underlined.

Selects the jack type to output audio signals.
2-channel linear PCM signals are output at
48 kHz maximum from output jacks other
than the priority jacks.

To obtain the best possible surround sound,
set the speakers you have connected and their
distance from your listening position.
Then use the test tone to adjust the volume
and the balance of the speakers to the same
level.
This setting is selectable when “Audio
Output Priority” is set to “Multi Channel
Analogue.”

To set the speakers

Select “Speaker Settings” in “Audio
Settings,” and press ENTER.

Component output
compensation

Off

Turns off the function.

Select the appropriate
numeric value depending on
the length of the connected
coaxial cable.
The compensation amount
increases by approximately
0.4 dB (at 30 MHz) for each
step increase.

Audio Output Priority

HDMI

Outputs audio signals from
the HDMI OUT jack.

Coaxial/
Optical

Outputs audio signals from
the DIGITAL OUT
(OPTICAL/COAXIAL)
jack.

Multi Channel
Analogue

Select this when connecting
an AV amplifier (receiver)
via the MULTI CHANNEL
OUTPUT jacks.

Stereo
Analogue

Outputs audio signals from
the AUDIO OUT (L/R)
jacks.
