Using Peripheral Devices
To configure the recording device
1
Click Start and then Control Panel.

Click Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices.

Click Sounds and Audio Devices.
The Sounds and Audio Devices Properties window appears.

Select the Audio tab.

Select your default recording device from the drop-down list under Sound recording.
To use an external microphone, select Realtek HD Audio Input.
To use the built-in microphone on your computer, select Realtek Digital Microphone.

Click OK.
To adjust the microphone volume

Click Start and then Control Panel.

Click Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices.

Click Sounds and Audio Devices.
The Sounds and Audio Devices Properties window appears.

Select the Volume tab.

Move the slider under Device volume horizontally to adjust the microphone volume.

Click OK.
