Self diagnosis
Picture Test
Please perform the picture test if there is a problem on the screen. Check the color pattern on the screen, and analyze
whether the TV is defective.
1. Please press the ‘-’ button for more than 5 seconds.
The “Self Diagnostic Test” message is displayed.
2. Press the ▲ or ▼ button to select “Picture Test”, then press the ENTER
button.
The “Does the problem still exist with this test pattern?” message will
appear.
3. Press the ◄ or ► button to select “Yes” or “No”.
Yes: It’s regarded as TV set defect, and the contact information of
Samsung Call center is shown.
No: It’s not regarded as TV set defect. If the self diagnosis picture is
OK, picture distortion may caused by your external device. Please
check connection. If the problem still persists, refer to the external
device’s user manual.

Sound Test
If you believe that there is a problem with the sound, please perform the sound test. You can check if the TV is defective by
playing a melody through the TV.
1. Please press the ‘-’ button for more than 5 seconds.
The “Self Diagnostic Test” message is displayed.
2. Press the ▲ or ▼ button to select “Sound Test”, then press the ENTER
button.
The “Does the problem still exist with this sound test?” message is
displayed.
3. Press the ◄ or ► button to select “Yes” or “No”.
Yes: It’s regarded as TV set defect, and the contact information of
Samsung Call center is shown.
No: It’s not regarded as TV set defect. If the self diagnosis sound is OK,
sound distortion may caused by your external device. Please check
connection. If the problem still persists, refer to the external device’s
user manual.

The melody will be heard during the test even if the “Select Speaker” is
set to “External Speaker” or the sound is muted by pressing the MUTE
button.
If headphones are connected, the test melody will play through the headphones.
