Troubleshooting
Check the following guide for the possible cause of a problem before contacting service.
Symptom Cause Correction
No power. The power cord is disconnected. • Plug the power cord into the wall
outlet securely. •
Abnormal or no picture The TV is not set to receive
DVD+VCR signal output. • Insert a disc or tape. (Check that the
disc or tape indicator in the display
window is lit.) •
The video cable is not connected
securely. • Select the appropriate video input
mode on the TV so the picture from
the DVD+VCR player appears on the
TV screen. •
The HDMI mode is on. • Set HDMI on the front panel to OFF. •
Unit output setting and TV resolution
capabilities mismatch. • Check TV capability.
Check mode of connections
(e.g. S-Video, Components etc.).
Check unit Resolution setting
according to TV capability and mode
of connection. •

Wrong cable connection. • Check the connection. •
Distorted or no sound. The equipment connected with the
audio cable is not set to receive
DVD+VCR signal output. • Select the correct input mode of the
audio receiver so you can listen to
the sound from the DVD+VCR. •
The audio cables are not connected
securely. • Connect the audio cable into the
jacks securely. •
The power of the equipment con-
nected with the audio cable is turned
off. • Turn on the equipment connected
with the audio cable. •
The AUDIO options are set to the
wrong position. • Set the AUDIO options to the correct
position. •
In HDMI mode, audio selection is not
set to PCM. • Change AUDIO setup to PCM mode. •
The playback picture is
poor. The disc is dirty. • Clean the disc. •
The TV channels are not tuned in
properly. • Check tuning, carry out tuning again. •
Tape heads are dirty. • Clean video heads. •
Tape is a rental or was recorded on
another VCR. • Use CH (-/+) for manual tracking
adjustment while tape is playing. •
