JPS-10: 10" PROSHOP 1-3/4HP 30"- CW
The JET ProShop 10" Table Saw (#708482K) is the
result of combining key cabinet saw features with the
semi open leg structure of the venerable contractor-
style table saw. While developing a unique set of
technologies to give the JET ProShop 10" Table Saw
wide-ranging capabilities was the goal, accuracy,
durability and ease of use remained at the top of the
priority list throughout the design process.
This new design also allowed simplifying the assembly
process considerably. With the motor installed within
the cabinet at the factory, the process of hanging the
motor on an external bracket and aligning it with the
arbor, common on contractor-style saws is eliminated completely. The extended
cabinet of the JET ProShop 10" Table Saw also replaces the open leg assembly
common contractor saws with four channel-shaped legs that are extremely rigid and
very easy to install. Four bolts secure each leg to the cabinet and need only to have
the leveling feet attached to get the JET ProShop 10" Table Saw upright and ready
for final assembly.
The new JET JPS-10 ProShop saw
represents new thinking that
makes your shop time more
accurate and productive
.
At the heart of the JET ProShop 10" Table Saw is the all-new operating mechanism
that locates the motor inside of the cabinet. This massive cast iron mechanism is
extraordinarily rigid and substantially increases the vibration dampening mass
directly below the
table. The result is
super smooth, super
quiet operation with
an overall stability of
the blade system
previously found
only in machines
that are far more
expensive.
A dual drive belt
system transfers
motor power to the
5/8”-diameter arbor that is located in a short, super rigid cast iron arm. Blade height
adjustments are remarkably smooth in part because the blade arm is isolated from
the weight of the motor and undercarriage. The 5/8”-diameter arbor was designed
with sufficient length to handle most stacked 6” or 8”-diameter dado sets at a full
13/16” width.
The all-new ProShop mechanism (left) not only moves the motor inside of
the cabinet but also uses a heavy-duty swing arm (right) to locate the
arbor. This system drastically reduces vibration and makes blade height
changes smooth and precise.
The blade height and tilt mechanism provides maximum cut depths of 3 1/8” at 0-
degrees and 2 1/8” at 45-degrees. The mechanism tilts the blade to the left, away
from the fence so the operator is controlling the major piece and the scrap falls onto
the table, away from the blade.
