CAUTION

Applying excessive lateral force while
the spare tire lever is attached may
result in damage to the socket.

NOTE

Unless the cable is rolled up
completely, the spare tire lever cannot
be removed from the socket.

3. Replace the spare tire carrier cap in the

socket and turn it until the spare tire is
pulled up tight.

WARNING

Loose Spare Tire Carrier Socket:
A loose spare tire carrier socket cap is
dangerous. The cable could be cut
causing the spare tire to fall off. This
could result in someone being badly
injured or even killed.
Always screw the spare tire carrier
socket cap completely tight and make
sure the spare tire is locked in the
highest position.

CAUTION

If you hear rattling from the spare tire
carrier while the vehicle is moving, the
spare tire carrier cable may be cut.
Have it repaired at an Authorized
Mazda Dealer as soon as possible.
