Operating the Self-Cleaning Oven
After a Clean Cycle
The clean light will go off.
Turn the Oven Temperature knob to OFF. Slide the
latch handle to the left.
Never force the latch handle. Wait until the
latch slides easily. Forcing the latch handle may
damage the door lock.
You may notice some white ash in the oven. Just
wipe it up with a damp cloth after the oven cools.
If white spots remain, remove them with a soap-
filled steel wool pad. Be sure to rinse thoroughly with
a vinegar and water mixture. These deposits are
usually a salt residue that cannot be removed by the
Clean Cycle.
If the oven is not clean after one Clean Cycle,
repeat the cycle.
If the shelves have become hard to slide, wipe the
shelf supports with cooking oil.
To Stop a Clean Cycle
1. Turn the Oven Temperature knob to OFF.
2. Wait until the oven has cooled below the locking temperature.
3. Slide the latch to the left to unlock the oven door.
Questions and Answers
Q. Can I use commercial oven cleaners on any part
of my self-cleaning oven?
A. No cleaners or coatings should be used around any

the oven surface and damage metal parts the next
time the oven is automatically cleaned.

during cleaning?
A. This is caused by excessive soil. Turn the Oven
Temperature knob to OFF. Open windows to rid
room of smoke. Wipe up the excess soil and reset
the clean cycle.
