Hand Blender Recipes

Beverages

Vanilla Milk Shake

2 cups (1 pint) vanilla ice cream

1 cup milk

Combine ingredients in tall container. Blend on HI until smooth. If necessary, stop
blending, lift unit out of mixture and repeat. For thicker shakes, add more ice
cream. Makes 2 servings.

Chocolate Shake:

Add 2 tablespoons chocolate syrup to vanilla milk shake before

blending; or substitute chocolate ice cream for vanilla ice cream

Strawberry Shake:

Add 1/2 cup sweetened fresh or frozen strawberries to vanilla

milk shake before blending; or substitute strawberry ice cream for vanilla ice

cream.

Malted Milk Shake:

Add 1 tablespoon malted milk powder to any milk shake

before blending.

’s Frosty

1 1/2 cups vanilla ice cream

1/4 cup milk

1/4 cup plain M&M

®

’s candies

Combine ingredients in tall container. Blend on LO and then HI until smooth. Do
not overmix or shake will become thin. If necessary, stop blending. Lift out of
mixture and start again. Candy bars or cookies may be substituted for M&M

®

candies. Makes 1 serving.

Lemon Breakfast Shake

1 cup lemon yogurt

1/4 cup frozen orange juice concentrate,

1/2 cup canned peach slices (about 8 slices)

undiluted

3 ice cubes

Combine lemon yogurt, orange juice concentrate and peach slices in tall
container. Blend on LO until smooth. Add ice cubes one at a time and blend on
HI

until crushed. Serve immediately. Makes 1 1/2 cups.

Breakfast Drink

1/3 cup frozen orange juice concentrate,

1/2 cup milk

undiluted

1/2 cup water 1/4 cups sugar

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 banana, peeled and sliced

3 ice cubes

Combine ingredients except ice in tall container. Blend mixture on HI until frothy
and smooth. Add ice cubes one at a time until crushed. Serve immediately. Makes 2
cups.

Orange Pineapple Juice

1 cup orange juice

1 cup pineapple juice

6 ice cubes

Combine ingredients except ice in tall container. Blend on HI, adding ice cubes
one at a time, until smooth. Makes 4 servings.

Lo-Cal, Hi-Protein Pina Colada Drink

1 cup skim milk

1/2 teaspoon rum extract

1/2 cup pineapple chunks

1 package vanilla instant breakfast or 1

6 ice cubes

scoop vanilla diet drink mix

Combine ingredients except ice in tall container. Blend mixture on HI until frothy
and smooth. Add ice cubes one at a time until crushed. Serve immediately. Makes
2 cups.

Grasshopper

2 cups (1 pint) vanilla ice cream

2 ounces green crème de menthe

2 ounces white crème de cacao

Combine all ingredients in tall container. Blend mixture on HI until smooth. If
necessary, stop blending, lift unit out of mixture and repeat. Makes 2 servings.

Kahlúa

®

Frosty

2 cups (1 pint) vanilla ice cream

1/2 cup half-and-half

1/2 cup Kahlúa

®

1/8 teaspoon vanilla extract

Follow directions for Grasshopper recipe above. Makes 2 servings.

Brandy Alexander

2 cups (1 pint) vanilla ice cream

2 ounces brandy

2 ounces crème de cacao

Follow directions for Grasshopper recipe above. Makes 2 servings.

Salad Dressings & Dips

Balsamic Vinaigrette

1/4-1/3 cup extra virgin olive oil

2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar

2 tablespoons Dijon mustard

1 clove garlic

salt and pepper
Combine all ingredients in a small deep bowl. Blend on HI until smooth and
thickened.

Blue Cheese Dressing

1 cup plain yogurt

1/4 cup buttermilk

4 ounces blue cheese, crumbled

1 tablespoon dried Italian seasoning

1 teaspoon steak sauce

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Combine all ingredients in tall container. Blend on LO until nearly smooth.
Transfer dressing to storage container. Shake before serving. Makes 2 cups.
