SECTION 4: OpERATIONS
Electrocution hazard. The motor and switch
on this bandsaw are not protected against
liquids. Do not use water-based cutting flu-
ids with this bandsaw.
this overview gives you the basic process that
happens during an operation with this machine.
Familiarize yourself with this process to better
understand the remaining parts of the
Operation
section.
To complete a typical operation, the operator
does the following:
1. prepares the workpiece for cutting.
2. raises the head.
3. Securely clamps the workpiece in the vise
and adjusts the vise angle for the operation.
4. Checks/adjusts the v-belt position on the pul-
leys to ensure the correct cutting speed for
the workpiece.
5. Adjusts the spring tension for the correct feed
rate.
6. Makes sure the workpiece and bandsaw are
stable and there are no obstructions for the
cut.
7. Wears safety glasses.
8. Starts the machine and waits for the blade to
reach full speed.
9. Slowly lowers the head until the blade makes
contact with the workpiece, then releases
the head so that the spring-controlled feed
rate continues to lower the blade into the
workpiece until the cut is finished.
10. Stops the machine, raises the head, and
removes the workpieces.
