4.1 Using the appliance for the first

time

1. For reasons of hygiene, clean the

appliance thoroughly inside and out
before using it for the first time or if it
has not been used for a long time (see
"5.1

Cleaning the appliance" on

page 31).

2. Select a location that is well ventilated

and protected from heat and sunlight.

3. Place the appliance on a level, non-slip

surface.

4. Turn the function selector 6 and the

voltage selector 7 to the OFF position.

Use the voltage selector 7 to select the
required voltage:

12V:

operating on a car electrical

system
230V:

operating on the mains

OFF

: appliance is switched off.

4.3 Connecting the appliance to the car

electrical system

Note:

When operated on a vehicle 12 V

system the cooling and warming
performance is not quite so high as when
operated on 230 V mains (see "7. Technical
Data" on page 33).
1. Plug the car lead 11 into the socket 8.
2. Connect the car lead 11 to the car elec-

trical system, e.g. the cigarette lighter.

You may need to pull the red cap

off the car plug.

4.4 Connecting the appliance to the

mains

1. Plug the mains lead 3 into the socket 9.
2. Connect the mains lead 3 with the mains

supply.

4.5 Selecting a function

4.6 Select operating temperature

Set the operating temperature on tempera-

increase energy consumption. To save
energy, output can be reduced again by
turning temperature selector 4 back towards

(minimum output).

4.7 Emptying the drip tray

Condensation water may collect in the drip
tray 12. Depending on the duration and
intensity of operation, the drip tray 12
should be checked regularly and emptied if
necessary:
1. Pull the drip tray 12 forwards and out.
2. Empty out any condensation water

present.
