Maintenance
Check that steam supply is shut-off. Ensure that all
1.
system pressures are off and trap is cool before
opening.
Remove sanitary steam trap from the sanitary piping
2.
by disconnecting the inlet and outlet tri-clamps and
slipping the trap from the line.
The trap can then be easily dismantled by remov-
3.
ing the tri-clamp holding the two body components
together. Separate the inlet and outlet halves of the
body and the thermal element is readily accessible.
Inspect and clean the components per sanitary ap-
4.
plication requirements.
Inspect for any damage or wear to the thermal ele-
5.
ment seating surfaces and the valve seat areas of
the trap body outlet half.
Replace the trap’s thermal element if poor operation
6.
is suspected.
Reassemble the trap components as shown in the
7.
cutaway illustration.
The body joint gasket is reusable unless leakage oc-
8.
curred, in which case install a new gasket.
Tighten tri-clamp securing the body halves together.
9.
Install trap in sanitary piping using proper gaskets
10.
and tri-clamp connectors.
