QUICK-START INSTRUCTIONS:
1. The HELI SPHERE Helicopter needs to be charged once it is taken out of the box for optimal performance.
It is necessary to charge the HELI SPHERE Helicopter for all subsequent flights where the Internal Battery has
been depleted on the previous flight. Refer to the section “CHARGING YOUR BLADERUNNER HELI SPHERE
HELICOPTER” for further information on recharging.
2. Turn on the HELI SPHERE Helicopter once fully charged and the IR Controller once the 6 AA Batteries are
installed. Ensure that the HELI SPHERE Helicopter is positioned on a safe, sturdy, flat and level, indoor launch-
ing surface.
3. Push the Left Stick all the way up and down to initialize the throttle control between the IR Controller and the
HELI SPHERE Helicopter.
4. Push the Left Stick up again gradually. The Main Rotors will start to spin and the HELI SPHERE Helicopter
will lift off the ground.
5. If the HELI SPHERE Helicopter's body is spinning in the air, adjust this by dialling the Trim Control knob to
counter the unwanted rotation.
6. Use the Right Stick to control the Forward, Reverse, and Left / Right steering of the HELI SPHERE Helicopter.
7. When finished flying, land your HELI SPHERE Helicopter by gently pushing the Left Stick all the way down.
IMPORTANT BATTERY INFORMATION:
Use only batteries recommended in this instruction manual. Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix alkaline,
standard, lithium, rechargeable, or different types of batteries. Do not use rechargeable batteries. Be careful to
install the batteries with the correct polarity, as indicated. Battery should be replaced by adults. Rechargeable
batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision. Never leave a battery unattended while it is being
charged. Never leave a battery unattended in the presence of children. Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be
recharged. Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the toy before being charged. Do not throw batteries
into the fire. Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the toy. The supply terminals are not to be short-
circuited. The Controller uses 6 AA Batteries (sold separately).
INSTALLING BATTERIES:
The HELI SPHERE IR Controller requires 6 AA Batteries (sold separately). Install the Batteries as shown:
1. Unscrew the Retaining Screw on the bottom of the Battery Compartment Door using a Philips Screwdriver (not
included). Open the Battery Compartment door on the bottom of the IR controller.
2. Insert the 6 AA Batteries as shown. Make sure to respect the polarity.
3. Replace the Battery Compartment door and tighten the Retaining Screw with the Philips Screwdriver. Do not
over tighten.
CHARGING THE BLADERUNNER HELI SPHERE HELICOPTER:
The HELI SPHERE Helicopter is partially charged out of the box but it is recommended to charge your HELI
SPHERE Helicopter prior to its first flight for optimal performance. Once the Internal Battery is depleted after your
first flight and all subsequent flights, it will be necessary to recharge the HELI SPHERE Helicopter. Your IR
Controller also serves as Charger for your HELI SPHERE Helicopter. Follow the simple instructions directly
below to charge your HELI SPHERE Helicopter.
1. Ensure the HELI SPHERE Helicopter's On/Off Switch is in the OFF position. The LEDs at the front of the HELI
SPHERE Helicopter will turn off when the HELI SPHERE Helicopter is turned off.
2. Locate the Charge Cable Compartment Door at the bottom front of the IR Controller. Place your thumb on the
grip area of the Charge Cable Compartment Door and slide down to completely remove it.
3. Once the Charge Cable Compartment Door is removed, the Charge Cable will be completely exposed.
Pull the Charge Cable out of the Charge Cable Compartment and pull it downwards gently.
4. Replace the Charge Cable Compartment Door back onto the IR Controller's Charge Cable Compartment,
ensuring that the Charge Cable is able to protrude through the small opening at the bottom of the Charge Cable
Compartment Door. Note, the small opening is just below the thumb grip area on the Charge Cable Compartment
Door. This way you will be able to have the Charge Cable exposed and you will not misplace your Charge Cable
Compartment Door.

Red LED is Off: Power Button is in "Off" position.
Green LED is ON: The Heli Sphere Helicopter is charging.
Green LED is OFF: The Heli Sphere Helicopter is fully
charged or is not connected to the IR Controller's
Charge Cable.
HELI SPHERE Helicopter LED Functions:
LEDs are off: HELI SPHERE Helicopter is turned off and is either charging or not charging. It is also possible that the HELI SPHERE
Helicopter is turned on, but the Internal Battery charge is depleted.
LEDs flash rapidly: The HELI SPHERE Helicopter is turned on and is initializing its Gyro or the Internal Battery charge is low.
LEDs are on: HELI SPHERE Helicopter is turned on.
CHARGE TIME VARIES BASED ON HELICOPTER’S INTERNAL BATTERY CHARGE CONDITIONS.
TYPICALLY AFTER A 5 MINUTE FLIGHT THE HELICOPTER WILL NEED A 30 – 45 MINUTE CHARGE.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO WAIT FOR THE CHARGE TO BE COMPLETE TO FLY.
SHORTER CHARGE TIMES = SHORTER FLIGHT TIMES. FOR THE LONGEST FLIGHT TIMES PLEASE LET
THE HELI SPHERE HELICOPTER FINISH ITS CHARGE CYCLE.
CHOOSING A FLYING LOCATION:
Please note that the HELI SPHERE Helicopter is intended to be flown indoors only. The Indoor flying area should
ideally be roughly 16’ x 16’ (5 meters x 5 meters) with the standard household ceiling height as a minimum. The
Infrared control range of your HELI SPHERE helicopter is up to 20’ (6 meters), and varies depending on interfer-
ence within the operational environment. The IR Controller uses a safe infrared beam to communicate with the
HELI SPHERE Helicopter. An infrared beam is very similar to a beam of light so it is important to stay in visual
range of the HELI SPHERE Helicopter at all times during flight or control will be lost. When flying your HELI
SPHERE Helicopter be careful to avoid contact with any objects such as furniture, plants, electronics, and any
other items which can break easily. The HELI SPHERE Helicopter has Rotor Blades that spin at relatively high
speeds and could potentially damage some household objects. Avoid operating the HELI SPHERE Helicopter
around pets or people, and especially crowds. If the HELI SPHERE is stepped on or otherwise crushed, it will
sustain damage that would not be covered under warranty. Ensure that people around you are aware that you are
playing with the HELI SPHERE Helicopter. Be aware of changes in your operational environment and play safe!
WARNING:
The spinning Rotors of the HELI SPHERE Helicopter are capable of damaging or injuring plants, furniture, pets or
people so fly carefully.
FLYING THE HELI SPHERE HELICOPTER:
WARNING: Check the condition of all the rotor blades prior to each flight. Do not try to operate the HELI
SPHERE Helicopter if any Rotor Blade has been damaged. Broken or damaged rotor blades may have sharp
edges or corners and they will be spinning fast with a potential for injury! Flying the HELI SPHERE Helicopter
with broken Rotor Blades can also make the it fly in an unstable or uncontrollable manner. This may cause
damage to furniture and other property, as well as injury to plants, animals and people. Broken Rotor Blades can
be easily replaced as described in the “REPLACING DAMAGED ROTOR BLADES” section elsewhere in this
Instruction Manual.
Once you have installed Batteries into your IR Controller and your HELI SPHERE Helicopter's Internal Battery
has a sufficient charge, you are ready to fly your HELI SPHERE Helicopter. Follow the steps below to start flying:
1. Slide the On / Off Switch on your HELI SPHERE Helicopter to the On position. The LEDs on the front of the
HELI SPHERE Helicopter will turn on and will be flashing on and off for a few seconds as the HELI SPHERE
Helicopter's Gyro initiates itself.
2. Position the HELI SPHERE Helicopter on a flat, safe, sturdy, and level launching surface. After a few seconds
the LEDs on the HELI SPHERE Helicopter will stop flashing and will be on continuously.
3. Press the Power Button on the IR Controller. The Power LED will start flashing on and off.
4. Push the Left Stick all the way up and then back down to initialize throttle control. This is a safety feature to
prevent accidental starts. The HELI SPHERE Helicopter will not move when you do this, but it will now be ready
to fly. The LED on the IR Controller will stop flashing and will be on continuously.
5. Push the Left Stick up again gradually. This will start the Top and Bottom Rotors spinning. The HELI SPHERE
will rise up off the ground and into the air. Increase or decrease throttle by pushing the Left Stick up and down.
An increase or decrease in throttle will result in an increase or decrease in altitude (height). Adjust the Left Stick
until you have reached your desired flight altitude
-Push the Left Stick up to increase Throttle and gain altitude.
-Push the Left Stick down to decrease Throttle and lose altitude.
6. Once flying at the desired altitude, the HELI SPHERE Helicopter may be spinning under the Main Rotors
instead of holding a heading. Adjust the Trim Control Knob so that the HELI SPHERE Helicopter body does not
spin. Use the below points as a guide for Trim Control adjustment.
-Dial the Trim Control Knob to the left if the body is spinning right (Clockwise)
-Dial the Trim Control Knob to the right if the body is spinning left (Counter Clockwise).
Many factors affect the Trim of the HELI SPHERE Helicopter such as Internal Battery condition, throttle setting
and Rotor Blade wear. It may be required to adjust the Trim Control Knob more than once during a flight. Once
trimmed, minor corrections can be managed using the steering control (Right Stick). See the "FLYING TIPS"
section for more information.
7. Steering your HELI SPHERE Helicopter is accomplished by pushing the Right Stick sideways, left or right.
-Push the Right Stick to the left to steer the HELI SPHERE Helicopter to the left.
-Push the Right Stick to the right to steer the HELI SPHERE Helicopter to the right.
WHEN THE HELICOPTER IS FLYING TOWARDS YOU, THE STEERING WILL APPEAR TO REVERSE.
WHEN YOU PUSH THE RIGHT STICK TO THE RIGHT, THE STORM-WOLF HELICOPTER WILL TURN TO
THE LEFT. WHEN YOU PUSH THE RIGHT STICK TO THE LEFT, THE STORM-WOLF HELICOPTER WILL
TURN TO THE RIGHT. THIS IS NORMAL AND JUST TAKES SOME PRACTICE TO CONTROL.
8. Forward and reverse control of your HELI SPHERE Helicopter is accomplished by pushing the Right Stick up
and down.
-Push the Right Stick up to make the HELI SPHERE Helicopter fly forward or increase forward speed.
-Push the Right Stick down to make the HELI SPHERE Helicopter fly backwards.
9. To land your HELI SPHERE Helicopter, gently and gradually push the Left Stick all the way down. This will
slow the rotation of the Main Rotors and the HELI SPHERE Helicopter will land. It is very important to NOT push
the Left Stick all the way down suddenly, as the Main Rotors will stop spinning instantly and the HELI SPHERE
Helicopter will fall and possibly sustain damage.
FLYING THE HELI SPHERE HELICOPTER: -Continued
10 - A. To fly again, it may or may not be necessary to recharge your HELI SPHERE Helicopter, depending on
the charge that is remaining in the HELI SPHERE Helicopter’s Internal Lithium-Polymer Battery. Simply follow the
steps described in the “CHARGING YOUR BLADERUNNER HELI SPHERE HELICOPTER” section above, to
recharge your HELI SPHERE Helicopter.
10 - B. If you are finished playing, slide the HELI SPHERE Helicopter’s On / Off Switch to the Off position to turn
it off. Then turn off the IR Controller by pressing the Power Button.
FLYING TIPS!:
Altitude Control - the Left Stick Throttle Control is a digital proportional system, therefore fine movement of the
Left Stick will produce minor changes in the HELI SPHERE Helicopter’s altitude.
TAKE TIME TO PRACTICE CONTROLLING THE ALTITUDE AND GETTING ACCUSTOMED TO THE
THROTTLE SENSITIVITY.
Trimming - Once flying at the desired height, the HELI SPHERE Helicopter may be spinning under the Rotors
instead of holding a heading. Adjust the Trim Control Knob so that the HELI SPHERE Helicopter body does not
spin. If the HELI SPHERE Helicopter is spinning to the left (counter clockwise) when it shouldn’t, dial the Trim
Control Knob to the right (clockwise). If the HELI SPHERE Helicopter is spinning to the right (clockwise) when it
shouldn’t, dial the Trim Control Knob to the left (counter-clockwise).
MANY FACTORS AFFECT THE TRIM OF THE HELI SPHERE HELICOPTER SUCH AS INTERNAL BAT-
TERY CONDITION, THROTTLE SLIDER SETTING AND WEAR ON THE ROTORS. IT MAY BE REQUIRED TO
ADJUST THE TRIM CONTROL KNOB MORE THAN ONCE DURING A FLIGHT. ONCE TRIMMED, MINOR
CORRECTIONS CAN BE MANAGED USING THE RIGHT STICK'S STEERING INPUTS IN CONJUNCTION
WITH THE TRIM CONTROL KNOB.
THE HELI SPHERE HELICOPTER SHOULD NEVER BE FLOWN WITH DAMAGED ROTOR BLADES.
FLYING THE HELI SPHERE HELICOPTER WITH DAMAGED ROTOR BLADES IS VERY DANGEROUS. SEE
“TROUBLESHOOTING” AND “REPLACING DAMAGED ROTOR BLADES” SECTIONS FOR MORE INFORMA-
TION.
Forward Flight - The best forward flight motion is achieved by gently pushing the Right Stick up. Sharp or abrupt
movements can cause the HELI SPHERE Helicopter to "porpoise" or swing, but might be required to overcome a
slight wind or draft.
Direction Control - Direction Control convention is based as if you were sitting in the pilot's seat of the HELI
SPHERE Helicopter.
Control Reversal - When the HELI SPHERE Helicopter is flying towards you, the steering will appear to reverse.
This is normal and just takes some practice to control.
Infrared Control - The IR Controller uses a safe infrared beam to communicate flight instructions to the HELI
SPHERE Helicopter. An infrared beam is very similar to a beam of light so it is important to stay in visual range of
the HELI SPHERE Helicopter at all times during flight or control will be lost.
REPLACING DAMAGED ROTOR BLADES:
In the event that your main Rotor Blades or Forward / Backward Rotor sustain damage, they are very easy to
replace by following these easy steps. (Note, replacement Main Rotor Blades not included, but can be purchased
separately as part of the HELI SPHERE Replacement Part Kit.)
Main Rotor Blades:
1. Locate the broken Rotor Blade and use a fine Philips screw-driver (not included) to unscrew the tiny screw that
holds the Rotor Blade in place on the Hub Mount. Be careful not to lose the screw as it is tiny.
