Second step - cutting the back of the head
Replace the comb attachment with another one for 9 mm or 12 mm hair length. Trim the hair
above the nape of the neck, at the back of the head.
Third step - cutting the hair from the sides of the head
Replace the comb attachment with another one for 3 mm or 6 mm hair length. Trim the hair
at side of the head, e.g. at the side-curl. Then put on another comb attachment for 9 mm or 12
mm hair length, and continue trimming towards the hair at the upper part of the side of the
head.
Fourth step - trimming of the poll
1. To trim the poll, attach a comb that gives 9 mm or 12 mm hair length. Direct the cutting blades from the nape
of the neck towards the front so as to cut against the growth direction of the hair.
Sometimes, for example when trimming curls, change the direction of the trim and cut from the
front of the head towards the nape of the neck.
2. For longer hair, use the accessory comb to lift hair on the crown of the head. Trim the
amount of hair lifted above the comb or lift hair with two fingers and cut to the length
intended.
3. You can produce a step-like hair cut by reducing in steps the distance between the comb or fingers and the
head. Comb out the hair then cut and check for uneven parts. If necessary correct the uneven areas.
Fifth step - last phase of hair trimming
1. At the end of the hair-cut, use the hair clipper without the comb attachment in order to trim any hairs remain-
ing on the bottom of the neck, at its side and around the ears.
2. In order to achieve a straight trim of a side curl, use the hair clippers in vertical direction,
with the cutting blades upward.
3. Apply the hair trimmer gently to the contours of the hair so as to touch the skin surface with the point of the
blades and make downward movements with the trimmer. By doing this, you can achieve contours as if you’d
used a razor.
